LIGON, Mr. Elisha, a resident of Tuskegee, AL, died Wed., Sept. 19, 2007 in Tuskegee. AL. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 at 2 p.m. from Solomon Chapel AME Zion Church with Pastor E. O. Major officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with The Peoples Funeral Home directing. Survivors include: 2 Sons, Elisha, Jr., Tuskegee, AL and Charles, Missouri; 2 Daughters, Denise, Grand Rapids, MI and Gertha, Saginaw, MI; twenty-seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; 1 brother, Robert (Mary) Ligon, Tuskegee, AL; 2 special nieces, Alberta (Paris) Cooks, Detroit, MI and Julia L. Green, Tuskegee, AL; 2 special nephews, James Ligon and James Collins, both of Tuskegee, AL; a very close cousin, Evans "Eip" Ligon, Tuskegee, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 28., 2007 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Peoples Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Ligon was a Champion Checkers player, winning many competitions all over the State of Alabama.
